TFN was one of the first triathlon shops in the UK, we opened in April 1996 after 4 local triathletes spotted a gap in the market for a specific triathlon retailer, triathlon itself was still a very young sport then and a big field at popular events were around 200 people. This was a long time before London Triathlon and big corporate races.
The TFN club started at the same time and although the club is ran totally seperately nowadays there is still strong links between the shop and the club.
In the first couple of years the shop was run by one of the four partners Mark Redwood, he is the only original TFN founder who is still in the business. Back then the shop was on Huntingdon Street in Nottingham city centre, by 1999 the business had doubled in size and our ecommerce website was launched, again we were one of the first triathlon shops to have a dedicated site. It was during these years when the TFN race team was launched, some of the original member still race for us now, Andy Tarry being one of the best local triathletes to this day!
We moved to our new location in Beeston in late winter 2001 and are still there now, we have the convenience of free parking next to us and a sports masseur and podiatrist above the store.
